5 Slides from Summer Work

1. From the 3rd slide I learned The Structural Organization of the Body:
Chemical- Atoms form Molecules
Organelles- all cells of complex organisms contain these
Cells- smallest unit of all living things
Tissue- Made up of groups of cells with a similar function
Organ- structure made up of two or more tissues that performs a specific function
Organ System- a group of organs that work together to perform a common function
Organism- the highest level of structural organization
2. From the second slide I learned that Anatomy is the structural organization of an organisms body, and that Physiology is a branch of science dealing with the funcitions and activities of life.
3. From the fourth slide I learned that the eleven body systems are: Integumentary, Skeletal, Muscular, Nervous, Endocrine, Circulatory, Lymphatic, Respiratory, Digestive, Urinary, and Reproductive.
4. From the fifth slide I learned that the Functional Characteristcs of Human Life are: Maintain boundaries/ movement, sensitivity, digestion, metabolism, excretion, reproduction, and growth.
5. From the sixth slide I learned that Homeostasis is the body keeping itself regulated. Homeostasis is important because it keeps bodily processes running smoothly and helps you stay healthy.
